on first sight your idea of leading "onion-gas" directly to the Big Single doesn't sound that bad.
On the other hand I'm a bit scared of the backfiring, savage is famous for (see entries further down). Would jumping off before the engine stops help?
Could become a bit *ahem* uncomfortable, so to speak.
